MaryEllen Kowalewski Architect

MARYELLEN KOWALEWSKI ARCHITECT is interested in producing an ‘architecture of reflection.’ This is defined as an architecture that is based upon the creative process and that moment within the creative process when the artist abandons precise visualization and experiences an unclear vision of the whole. The moment between the unconscious thoughts produced in our dreams and the conscious effort of revealing them in our creations. Through collaboration and exploration with each client, spaces can be designed and built to invoke and satisfy their own creativity throughout the process.

Her background is extensive, but lies mainly in high-end residential and small commercial projects. The majority of her work has been in New York, Chicago, and Portland.

She is a licensed architect in the states of New York and Oregon and also a LEED accredited professional.

MaryEllen Kowalewski Architect The kitchen is 7'-7 1/2" x 6'-6 3/4". We ran into the same problem with the fire escape outside of the window. We also had the steam pipe in the corner. We were constricted by the width because the plumbing risers were located in the wall to the right and the wall to the left was a shared party wall. Therefore, we could not increase the distance between the cabinets, which is why we had to cut down the cabinet boxes on the left wall.

alphazzl Thank you. My kitchen is currently 7' long by 10' wide. So it is good to know that I could do some good things with it. I am at the very early stages of looking at options to renovate my apartment. I will be consider knocking walls and closets to make room. But of course all of this will hinge on construction limitations of the wall structures and my maximum budget available. Thanks again for sharing.
