National Door & Trim

We purchased 9 interior doors and trim to finish out 3 walk-throughs between rooms. The doors are 6 panel oak with a praline finish. Two doors have chips and/or splintering along the bottom edge. The salesman said that they gave us wood putty with our order to fix that sort of thing. The chips are large. There is stain/varnish missing along a few thinner strips of wood. Overall the surface was rough in areas and feels like it hasn't been sanded well. The grain does not show much. The salesman said it was because of how the doors are made. I wish we had been informed of that prior. I had shown him my oak table and cabinets that I wanted to match. Without much visible grain the praline finish appears more orange. We've had a couple people ask us if they were poplar. Just overall it looks like shoddy workmanship. I rarely give a negative review on things but I feel this warrents it because doors are a rather pricey purchase and so other shoppers are aware.
