Noel Cross+Architects Tes Margaret, it is a tough process. Which is why our clients hired me, a contractor, an interior designer and a landscape architect to help them make these choices. We requested that several stain samples be made up on the actual cedar wood, and we then stood there on site and held them up next to all the other material samples (stucco, stone, roofing, window frames, copper gutters, etc.) and stared at them for a while and debated. Probably cost our client $1,500, but we got it right. That's what it takes. And, it's been like 5 years, so there is no way that I have that information handy . . . I wish you luck!

    Noel Cross+Architects It's not a paint color.
It's rammed earth, so the natural color is that of the soil that was used in the concrete mix.

Noel Cross+Architects Being the architect, I had no input on the choice of the rug. So sorry.

Noel Cross+Architects It's not a "system". I custom designed the rail and it was fabricated by a San Jose steel stair subcontractor.

Joyce Fenner Sheila & lalmstedt, I had the Goldfinch problem last summer when we had a drought. They ate all my flower leaves!

Joyce Fenner When my son was young we planted sunflowers & supported them by tying to the shed. This summer I have trellises & I'm planting sunflowers below them with his son, my grandson!
