Thanks for the compliment and sorry for the delayed response. Yes, the wood is 6" clear finish tongue and groove redwood- the exact same wood that is on the exterior so you can see at the window that the material from the outside comes in.

This room is about 18' square. It doesn't look like it because of the perspective of the camera.

The door handles are from Forms and Surfaces. I believe we bought them on line.

I believe it is about 12-14 inches off the ground. It kind of depends on your space and the depth of the cabinet.

The art is from the SFMOMA rental gallery at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the artist.

we have to reapply the finish outside every few years to keep it from fading and inside, we only did it when we install and have not done it again as there is no direct sun on the wood.

Looks like a mall wall or major industries type of glazing. Funky acrylic unit with insulation inside.
Verses coloured glass of course.

It is a product called Kalwall which is become more popular in residential applications but used widely in airports, schools, etc. It is a very economical product and produces great light in the space.

Hmmm... good question. The material and fabrication were not that expensive but it was a bit tricky to install as they brought it out all in one piece then had to field weld to the uprights. Not sure how that would compare to prefab railing... probably a bit more expensive but worth it for the look.

Love these ideas Nelly! All really great flooring options for Australian homes, when it's nice to have a floor that is cool and comfortable underfoot during hot summers.
