We were in the market for reclaimed beams for our new home under construction. After narrowing it down to this company and working with the owner, John, for over a year, we placed the order for all of our reclaimed beams for our new home (over $35,000). I wired him half of the funds for a deposit with the plan that he would find all of our beams over the next 4 months and then I would wire the remaining half prior to delivery. I communicated to him numerous times that the beams needed to be fumigated, power washed and I wanted as few mortise holes as possible. Things started going sideways about 3 months later after he already had $20k of our money. He lost his phone, then his new phone wouldn't hold a charge so I was only able to communicate with him via email. I reluctantly wired the remaining funds (another $15k) in order for them to ship out the order. This was after repeated calls from our builder and myself to the office manager and several emails regarding the status which were repeatedly unanswered. After several delays in shipping the order, the order finally arrived. Many of the beams from the order were missing, several of the beams were riddled in mortise holes, several others were twisted and completely unusable and many were filled with carpenter ants. I was beyond disappointed and immediately reached out to him through email (he still had no phone) and he wouldn't respond. I called the office manager in MT and explained the issues and she said she would try to reach John but never got back to me. I asked them repeatedly to please do the right thing and send replacement beams or refund a part of the order for all of the unusable beams. They both simply ignored me. We had to work with the beams that were usable and pay someone to fill in the mortise holes, pay a pest control company to fumigate all of the beams and remove beams from certain areas and change our entire design because we did not have enough of the usable beams. It was such a nightmare and I major disappointment. I would give this company zero stars if I could.
