I would not mind the light inserted into the arch if it were a pass through, but since it would be against a wall I'm kind of leaning towards the pendants. No, sadly, the image for my future kitchen is still in my head. If you scroll up you will see the fireplace in the dining room. There is a window to the right of that. I want to close off the window and put the range there and the pizza oven somewhere in that area. Probably change the opening of the fireplace, but keep the type of brick. The kitchen is to the right of the window and is in U configuration with a three foot break in the back right corner, where the pantry is. I would keep that but open the top half of the right kitchen wall into the living room and put a high counter there. This would allow me to come directly into the kitchen from my front door as well as from the dining area. On the kitchen side of that high counter I want an additional low counter made of butcher block and marble so I can use it for both baking and prep, as it is not a large kitchen. So many ideas, it will take time, money, and planning to get them accomplished. Won't be done any time soon, but I love gathering information from Houzz!

I have always loved old brick, especially in a kitchen. When the designers at M-Rock told me they were coming out with 3 new bricks that would install with screws and could be used inside and out, I was all ears. The first brick they used for molding from come from the old family home which they lovingly named "Solitude". The brick is distressed and warn looking and is light in color. The next one they came out with is "Serenity" and is the same old worn look you would find in studio lofts, and old warehouses but a darker, richer red. Both are ideal for my dream kitchen. They have a 3rd which is a straighter cut and cleaner looking brick called "Harmony". No mortar to put them up, easy to design intricate patterns and lightweight. Ladies, you can do this yourself. Grouted, you can get any look you want.

We replaced the bottom half of the panels with frosted glass; we just weren't sure if the film will behave well with moisture and didn't want to risk it.
