They have "wowed" us again. We purchased our home not quite a year ago (a 1979 house with a lot of original features) and Preferred Home Repair and Construction beyond exceeded our expectations on our second home. They took our vision of creating an open concept kitchen (including a massive load bearing wall) and helped create our dream space. Every detail was of high importance to them–from in-floor hardwood vents to matching 40 year-old cedar ceilings, no detail was left out. The communication was immediate and responsive as Rod was always available to answer questions and quick to educate us on what would work best for any situation that would arise. Although we had a budget in mind, once we got rolling we couldn't help ourselves. After all, everything about our home is dated... so we changed the scope on them multiple times and they adjusted quickly–communicating beforehand how much our "new ask" would cost us in order to help us to make the decision of the scope change. I cannot say enough good things about the quality. The house is far from done, so we will be using them again in the not-so-distant future as we move to other areas of our home.

Preferred Home Repair and Construction did an excellent job to recover our basement from sewer backup damage and make some great upgrades in the process of the recovery construction. Rodney provided ideas that really improved our basement but were not costly and executed they perfectly.

Rodney and the team saved me after an extremely bad experience with a different contractor. They were prompt, professional, very detail oriented, easy to work with and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to get a remodel or any type of construction done. I will call them again when I need work done again.

Rodney and his team remodeled the entire first floor of our 1980's home and some of the second floor. They did an outstanding job creating a very modern look. They set up a very functional living space in our basement before they started as we could not use our kitchen while it was being remodeled. During the remodel everyone that came into our home was very polite, on time and had wonderful attention to detail. We would use Rodney again and highly recommend him!!

Rodney and his crew remodeled our dark, dated basement and it's beautiful! They removed the popcorn ceilings, added a bedroom, updated the lighting and spruced up the bathroom. This is the second big project that Rodney has done for us, and we couldn't be happier. He has great and creative ideas and all the people working for him are very professional. I always felt comfortable having them in our house. I highly recommend this company for any project, large or small.

Rod and Colleen did an excellent job bidding our deck replacement and exterior house trim repaint. All work was completed meticulously and within the bid quote. Communication throughout the project was excellent. Subcontractors Rod brought to do specific tasks did an excellent job as well. JT is also a delight to work with.

We contacted Rodney with Preferred Home Repair & Construction to complete our stair railing upgrade. We had very outdated and not up to code stair rails that had become somewhat of a hazard. Rodney made several suggestions and showed us what options were available. Once we made our decision he was very quick to start the project, took exceptional care in protecting the house and was diligent completing the project on time. We are now proud to have guests enter our house and see the new stair rail remodel as soon as they walk in the door. I would highly recommend Rodney and his company for any level of construction or remodel.

Rodney was referred to us by another contactor who we had used several times but could not fit us in. The project was an extension of the roof on our home to cover our deck. Rodney was meticulous and the end result met all of our expectations. He communicated regularly on the status of the project. He used subcontractors on a few items, and he closely monitored their work. We were highly satisfied.

These guys just completed a renovation for our beloved stand alone casita which we are renting out. We needed a kitchenette design, simple but elegant. They knocked it out of the park. Rod is so knowledgeable, and his attention to detail is unparalleled. He has a great eye and is very innovative with problem solving. His subcontractors are the highest quality. He makes very clear the cost and design implications of every decision so there are no surprises. He's done work for us before but this was the biggest project. We can't wait to work with him on a full kitchen remodel.

We hired Rodney for a remodel that we conceptualized, but did not yet have plans for... We wanted to replace existing great room features (box beams, shelving, fireplace, island...) with old barn wood and barn materials because we loved the character, history and patina of old material. With numerous clever suggestions on how to integrate the material we had and new ideas that were completely out of the box; Rodney hit it out of the park!!! We couldn't be more thrilled with his work and friends are shocked at the transformation in our home. Rodney and Colleen are an amazing and fluid team that truly complement each other. They listened to what we wanted, weren't afraid to make a suggestion when they thought something might not be the best idea (we loved the active brainstorming sessions!), and with lots of creativity made our vision a reality!
