I LOVE my round sofa, but let me tell you it was very difficult to find. You can't just google "round sofa" and find a vast selection, as they aren't usually advertised or indexed by shape. I knew exactly what I was looking for (semi-circle, traditional style, leather) and I had to comb store after store and brand after brand before finally finding my treasure by accident on the web site of a furniture store in a nearby city. Totally worth it.

Can you count half rounds as round sofas? I think not! The semi-circular styles above work well, regardless of whether the decor style is to one's taste or not (not to my taste for the most part - tho' picture #6, by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design is one knock-out exception!) The French rounds - indiscret, boudouse - seem so much from their original time period that they're evocative of a certain kind of attire and social manner (a number of which are mentioned in people's comments) rendered rather bizarre for a home in the 21st century. But perhaps in a hotel or a showroom for retail sales or a museum they'd work well!
