A house project – for me it's not just a set of plans, but a living organism that needs to be incubated and nurtured. I don’t believe work on a project is really finished until a cozy fire warms the living room and the owner truly feels at home.
This sense of personal responsibility is the most important element of my relationship with a client, who comes with his own relatives, his own story, his own dreams... A house isn't just an empty shell; it reflects a family's internal life. Acknowledging this fact may make design projects more challenging, but it also ensures the final result will be that much better.
This is why the main principle of the bureau's work is: there’s no such thing as a “typical” project. Each one is unique and individual.
