How many square feet were added to the second floor? Could this be done to a ranch? Do you have any pictures of the back of the home? Love what you have done to the front!!

About 1400 sq ft added to the second floor. This type of renovation can be done on a ranch, but the a ranch is typically quite a bit wider and will provide a few challenges to get the right proportion with this type of look...

That is a tough call. The shingle color does play a big part in the overall look and feel of the home. If you were going with this exterior paint color, a grey roof would make the house feel dramatically different. I would encourage you to get good size samples of all that you're considering and lay them out in the sun light before making a decision...

That is exactly what I've been trying to do. Unfortunately, there aren't any homes in my area with GAF Camelot II shingles except one w/ "Charcoal" shingles.
Something in warm tones is my preference but I've been advised to go with a medium grey ("Antique Slate"). If you look through pictures on houzz - in my opinion - that is supported by grey tone roofing. I've seen alot of contrasting cool roof tones w/warm exterior finishes.
Initially I was drawn to brown tone shingle with our exterior finishes but was advised to go with greys. If I can't see samples in the combinations (our exterior finish: cream tone brick w/warm red-brown undertones, "chestnut bronze" window frames and gutters), I may go with a neutral grey-brown mix called "Weathered Wood".

The roofing supplier gave me the names of homes a few hours away from where we live. But, the concern I have is most of these homes were built 1980s-2006 so thus the reason for my question to you about trends. Thanks again for your prespective.

I really like these cabinets, where you inspired by a previous design you saw? They remind me a little bit of something you would see in a salon so I figured you got your measurements from sort of pre-existing stand or something. Great job, I'm sure all of the women want one of these in their bathroom. http://www.summitbathrooms.com.au/services

OK - Didn't see the comment section under one of the posts that mentioned the James Hardie siding. Anyway, this house always comes up in my searches, paint color/shingles - just love it. Its so warm and inviting. Cheers!
