hboudr I used sw lei flower on fireplace wall with mantel and trim in bm white dove and crema marfil porcelain tiles around new black gas fireplace insert. Wall that is 90 degrees left of fireplace and houses flat screen tv which rests on crema bordeaux granite above a bank of maple cabinets that are the same as the kitchen cabinets has been painted with bm waterfall and has black and white antique photos reminiscent of cajun water scenes from my husband's childhood.
we have been at standstill due to husband's health. Cannot decide if I should paint soffit above kitchen cabinets and the right wall in the kitchen which connects to tv area with sw waterfall. Also debating whether to paint dining room wall on left the same waterfall color. This area is so large that I feel it could handle that color.
However, the wall opposite the kitchen faces north toward mtns and valleys and is almost all glass with very little wall space and is now painted a very light creamy yellow/orange color which seems to clash with the other two colors.
We have had the red oak hardwood flooring installed throughout the downstairs open area. Any comments would be helpful. We just feel a need for color now (probably because of what we have been through the past two years), and we like what we have done so far.. But I can't afford (time or stamina wise) to make a color mistake. I even thought of maybe going to the next lighter color on the paint chip which bm waterfall.
We will, after finishing this area, be tackling a 40' x 15' living/entry area with extensive glass, wall to wall, as well as two two-story wall to wall floor to ceiling windows in entry/living area. The backside of the fireplace wall which is painted lei flower is also the living room wall which we have also painted lei flower, that will leave us with color problems since this is visible from the great room thru floor to ceiling openings on both sides of the fireplace.
Any helpful comments will be appreciated.

RJL Designs-LLC I would suggest that you use the colors already in the granite for your selection. The Crema Bordeaux has so many colors to choose from. By picking from them you will be tying the two room together also. You can be bold with this color since you are very neutral on all of the tile and other paint.

RJL Designs-LLC The counter table, as you call it, is ok for seating for 4. It will add congestion right in front of the Ref. The stools would be best without backs so they could slide under the count when not in use. This is casual dining and not very comfortable for formal dinners and for your guests.

OnePlan Yes Ed - that's the ugly drawers - if you look closely on the drawings there's no lines that you would expect to see if it was two drawer packs - totally stupid place to put separate drawers as not only would the handles bump each other - the corner space is voided !
I am trying to work out why the dilemma is even a dilemma ?!?!?!

Lori Epperson well, I disagree with you onthe corner drawers. When you have a big kitchen, you don't need that corner space. I did big drawers in my corners and lost the void space. As a result I have six huge usable drawers and I love them. The handles don't hit each other and it works fine.
I also would suggest using drawers wherever possible. Door fronts, even with pull-outs inside, are just not as user friendly and don't hold as much.
The only other thing is I would for sure do double ovens and put the microwave somewhere else. or you could do a second oven under your cooktop. When we remodeled our kitchen one of my friends kept insisting I do two ovens, even though I did not want to. Now five years later I am so happy I listened to her and so I have a commercial 36 inch gas range with a gas oven and an electric wall oven. Both of them get plenty of use.
I love all the counter space -- would not move the ovens from next to the fridge, I would leave them there.
I love the table because it seems like it would be very functional. I am a grandma now and have area in my kitchen where the grandkids can sit and play while I am in the kitchen and it's perfect.
You didn't mention where you are in life, but I think a table like that is almost always really useful.
Hopefully you will show us all pics when it's finished! Good Luck.
PS: Take your time, don't be in a hurry, make informed decisions and you will love your kitchen for years to come. We did ours five years ago, took five months to plan it, and have absolutely no regrets!
