SA Design Concepts

My name is Steven Ybarra, Principal Designer and Owner of SA Design Concepts. Out of necessity. I was one of the casualties of the 2008 great recession. Shortly after doing tenant improvement project for a small company, I became friends with the contractor and from there projects started to come in naturally. Shortly thereafter SA Design Concepts was created. Everywhere I go whether it's taking a long drive or going on vacation I always see architecture, color, and most important potential. I never changed my career path from high school, to college. I always knew what I wanted to do and had the ethic needed to make it. I worked my way through college doing drafting for a construction company. After college I worked for a small design firm designing several projects that are still in use! My next place of employment was with one of the largest architectural commercial design firms in the Southern California area which gave me the experience I needed to start my own company. Starting a company from the ground up, with little to no resources can be difficult. By utilizing my skills to develop trusting relationships with people I was able to create a great network of clients. This is why I remain very committed to any project I take on, keeping the clients interest in mind is highest priority for me, since my clients have helped get me this far! I have a knack for creative, clean, responsible designs. Many times through the course of my discussion with the client I come back with a design that exceeds their visions. In addition I always pick up the phone and respond when ever and where ever I might be. I am very goal orientated, therefore meeting deadlines, submitting to the city, obtaining design review approvals, securing building permits always gives me a sense of accomplishment. I love working with homeowners, or potential homeowners. It is important to me to develop long-lasting relationships, gain the trust of the client and see the excitement in their eyes when they can visualize the design I’ve created. I enjoy working as a part of a young, enthusiastic, smart, and committed team. There is always someone from SA Design who is willing to answer any question you may have. In order to truly understand what the client wants, I try to listen more than I talk. I speak from my past experiences and always transform their vision to a higher level.
