Studio K B began in 2005, and is the Kitchen & Bath Design Studio of Kayron Brewer, CKD CBD. We have worked on projects near and far from our Seattle, WA base. Kayron graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interiors & Housing. Combining her education, her innate talent for interior design and 20 years of industry experience, Kayron has the ability to produce the interior of your dreams. We work closely with our clients to determine their needs and desires for their homes.     Love the Bursa/Beige mini-brick backsplash! Is the top trim marble or part of the mirror trim? Beautiful!

    Kayron Brewer, CKD, CBD / Studio K B There is a Bursa Beige Rail Moulding on top of the mosaic tile, where the wood trim comes down and rests upon. The wood was thicker than the tiles, so the moulding was necessary for the transition. Good eye!

    Kayron Brewer, CKD, CBD / Studio K B Thanks so much! These doors are painted wood. Many companies have put MDF door options in their selections so to avoid the hairline cracks that appear at the joints of wood. Mortise & Tenon joints are typically better than a miter with paint. In my opinion, those hairline cracks are just part of the character of painted wood. As for overlay vs inset....well, they are very different styles. I always look at the style of your home to see what is most appropriate. Also, for the best inset look, it is nice to be able to combine cabinets into runs or use transitional depths so that the frames aren't doubled up with a seam that then creates a large 3" stile.     Kayron Brewer, CKD, CBD / Studio K B It is a tile carried by Statements Tile (in Seattle) that is called Solid, Structure White, 8x20". It has very fine vertical ridges to give some texture and interest to the plain white.

    jbsbunny The doors are installed and really are beautiful. The pull down screen is very cool. We still have not returned home (due to Hurricane Sandy) but when everything is finished then I will post pictures. Main Door Corp did a great job. Even better I could call them and ask questions. Nice companies are hard to find.

    dmcx2 what is the ceiling height? I also noticed bronze colored knobs and lights, but the faucets are silver...I like it. was this purposeful? can you have different metals?

    Kayron Brewer, CKD, CBD / Studio K B It is a vaulted ceiling, and was about a range of 10-13'. There are a lot of discussions of the metal if you look at the other questions on the bath photos of the album. In short, the bronze carried through the house in light fixtures and door hardware, and the client liked the idea of chrome for faucets for easy maintenance.
