Business Description
Ernesto is an architect and interior designer. At Studio Santalla we focus on quality and the skillful combination of all that goes in to a construction project from very technical issues like building codes to the very fine details like accessories. With Studio Santalla, you get the services of both professionals together, which results in efficiencies of both time and money.

Founded in 2001 by architect Ernesto Santalla, AIA LEED AP, Studio Santalla, Inc. is located at the corner of 31st and M Streets in Georgetown, Washington, DC.

Ernesto was born in Cuba and received a degree in Architecture from Cornell University in 1984, following which he moved to Washington, DC, and became a registered architect. Since then, he has contributed to the changing skyline of DC and worked on projects in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Europe. His work has been widely published and received numerous awards.

Studio Santalla offers professional services in Architecture, Interior Design, and Graphic Design. This website creates a window to Studio Santalla's projects, ideas and process–just enough to whet the appetite. We invite you to contact us to learn more about us and our work.

It is sustainable because it is made using stone remnants that would otherwise end up in a trash dump and never decompose. The piece was commissioned.

Great point, I did look up her website and found more information about her and her work. I've included this photo in my Ideabook on suspended sculpture which will be featured soon on Houzz. I particularly like the idea that you have a two story shower on one side of the wall, and a two story "shower of stones" on the other side. At least that is how it struck me that the sculpture relates to the shower. Thank you again!
