Its hard to name all the flowers since the picture isn't focused on the flowers. I can see petunias, cosmos, sage, lambs ears, and verbena.

It was an exterior paint over 6"x8" pressure treated timbers. I wouldn't suggest using them (we do not anymore) because the treated lumber prevents earthworms. I do not know the name of the paint. Thanks for the questions.

I believe that Buxus Sempervirens is European Boxwood as far as Africa not America Boxwood, most boxwood used in the East Coast of the USA is Korean Boxwood as it is hardy to zone 4.

American boxwood is a common name of "Buxus sempervirens". Common names reflect the common terminology of everyday life. Most American Universities refer to "Buxus sempervirens" as Common boxwood or American Boxwood. The entire reason we needed Latin/scientific names for botanical life is because one plant might have fifty common names "derived from common everyday life"-which is the actual definition of a common name.
