Westover Landscape Design, Inc. Hi jannnn, thanks for your question. We used 3/8" native washed gravel for this seating area, with belgian block edging and Pennsylvania Bluestone as the stepping stones. Hope this helps! Good luck with your project. Robert More at www.WestoverLD.com

Garden Alert: 22 Plants to Keep Away From Pets

Avoid potential danger by keeping dogs and cats away from these landscaping and houseplant favorites Full Story »

cateye Thank you for this article. Sago palms and lilies are two of the worst. Lilies are toxic to cats, not dogs, but all parts of the plant are potentially lethal even in tiny amounts. All parts of the sago palm are also toxic, although the seeds or nuts have the toxin in higher concentration.

As a veterinarian, I get very frustrated by landscapers and florists who do not learn which plants are potentially lethal to pets even in small quantities and warn people appropriately.

Living Exteriors Landscaping It would be helpful to provide real information about amounts of the plant/ toxicity/ type and size of animal, rather that general information listed in this and in many other articles. Thanks for your feedback.

rebekahhamon I love this bush, but am concerned with how it looks in winter, as we live in a mid-century modern house with largewindows that looks out on our garden. Would this tree do well under large evergreen trees (pine/fir)? Open shade - but it's pretty dry.
Le jardinet rebekahhamon it wouldn't do well in that situation.

Westover Landscape Design, Inc. Hello ritta_a, those are classic "New Dawn" climbing roses. Easy care and a good two to three week bloom time here in the Northeast. Good luck with your project! Robert

Becky Harris Houzz embraces everyone. If you don't like it, please feel free to look elsewhere. It's a shame that the hateful attitudes that kept Liberace from living openly as his true self still exist today.

lorirobinson Dear building blocks, you should go back to Kindergarten where you first learn to build with blocks, and recall that this is also where you were supposed to learn some manners, of which you have none. Take your hateful rhetoric elsewhere please.

normpo To Building Blocks: The last thing this site needs is more bigots. We get enough of it shoved down our throats on a daily basis elsewhere! It DOES NOT belong on this site. You said, "Keep it clean, or I may have to start a boycott of this site." So you mean you'll get people like you to boycott this site? Good, do us all a favor!
