Wall Mural and Decorative Fine Artist, Tom Taylor started his art business, "Mural Art," in 1999 and has since been painting award-winning wall murals, art, trompe l’oeil murals, fine art paintings, scenic murals, original art, hand-painted decoration, and decorative art painting for luxury homes in Virginia, Maryland, and throughout the country. Tom gained valuable knowledge in the art world while attending Florida Southern College where he graduated with a degree in art. From start to finish, Tom sets himself apart with the quality of his artwork and the professionalism that every client desires and expects from a mural painter. Tom was especially proud of his acceptance to Florida Southern College, an institution that is frequently listed among the top 10 schools for the arts. While earning his art degree, he spent the summers working at the art department in the Pentagon as an artist/artisan for the Air Force where he received an award for outstanding service for the USAF. What a great improvement to our house. Tom really transformed the room with the mural, incorporating local scenes in a historic, 18th century context. Tom took our rough ideas on the project and successfully brought them together. He is a perfectionist, and the end result was even better than we expected. Very professional; very courteous. I'm absolutely ecstatic with the results of the mural piece Tom Taylor painted for me. When I first researched mural artists I knew right away this was "the guy". His portfolio speaks for itself. I commissioned Tom to paint my favorite football player, Lamar Jackson, based upon a specific photo I had. The photo is artistic in and of itself but Tom's painting took things to an out of this world artistic value. I truly can't express just how happy I am with my mural. An added bonus, Tom is an incredibly good and down to earth guy. It was fun getting to know the man behind the brush so to speak.

Tom completed a one-of-a-kind nursery project for us in which he painted multiple scenes of Winnie the Pooh stories from the original text on the walls in both the bedroom and attached bathroom. He even included quotes from the text that truly make it feel like you’ve stepped right into the pages of the book. He worked tirelessly (even through a pandemic! - socially distanced, of course) to bring our vision to life in time for our due date. And, he created a room that we are thrilled to get to raise our son in, filled with the magic and wisdom of the classic Winnie the Pooh stories and characters.

I reached out to Tom, after seeing his work on Houzz. My husband and I were looking for a way to add personality to our son's room. I was immediately drawn to Tom's artistry and attention to detail. Tom recently finished an amazing wall mural for my daughters bedroom. The full wall lagoon complete with mermaids and dolphin is absolutely beautiful!!! His attention to detail is just phenomenal!!! Not only is Tom a fantastic artist, he did it all from concept to design to the end result! He is wonderfully respectful, kind and creative. Tom transformed our new house into a place we now call home. We had our 1920's summer cottage torn down and rebuilt ground floor up to a year-round home. Tom was asked to complete 3 separate projects. The first painting was a Blue Heron on our kitchen hood that if you didn't know better you would swear the heron was alive....every detail was covered, the 2nd mural was to paint memories of the scenes in the area, he decided to take it a step further and included our 1920's home along with 360 degree views of our current view from our home, it is truly amazing, in fact no one wants to leave the room once they enter. The 3rd mural was in our garage, where he painted old 1950 cars, a movie screen, concession stands and included our 3 children, 6 grandkids, 2 dogs and my parents in the picture, seriously unbelievable. His work is simply breathtaking, no detail is too small and he thinks of everything. We will cherish his art for the rest of our lives. Bottom line, it was worth every penny and every time we look at his work we smile, knowing it was money well spent.

Tom recently complete a three scene mural in our wine cellar. My husband and I still can't get over how amazing it looks. Everyone who has seen the mural says the same thing, "it looks like you can just step into it!" As for working with Tom, we've experienced none better. From the beginning of the project Tom was crystal clear on the process. We described what we wanted. He measured and photographed the space and gave us a written estimated. Once we agreed on a price and payment terms, there was no further mention of money. His work and work ethic are simply outstanding.

Tom was a pro from start to finish woth our project. Once the bid was in there was no talk of cost no matter the time invoked. And you could see how passionate he was about the work. Kari Morrison

I was a bit hesitant to call in someone to complete a mural for my family. I had actually had someone paint one in my daughter's bedroom about five years ago while we were living in Colorado and I wasn't very pleased at the completion. I have to say that when I saw Tom's site and read all the great comments I decided to try again and I can't say enough about his work! I asked him to paint a mural of a very special place in Hawaii my husband and I visited years ago and he nailed it. We can't wait to have him back to do others in our new home. I hired Tom to paint a soccer mural for my son's room as well as mural in the entry way of our house which covered 3 walls. Tom is an outstanding artist and painter! He did a mural in our daughter's room that exceeded our expectations. We saw his work online and on his website but to see the final results of the castle and landscape mural was breathtaking.
