A true California son, Gary Hutton is a third generation Californian, born and raised on his Grandmother’s apple ranch in Watsonville. While the world of glamour and design weren’t easily accessible in Watsonville at that time, a glimpse of Kim Novak while filming Vertigo opened a yearning for knowledge of a larger world, and a thirst for beauty and glamour that persist to this day. His down home roots and love of popular culture, contrasted with the love of glamour and beauty is the dichotomy that profoundly informs his work.
