“When we made the decision to remodel our 1980’s, outdated, small, inefficient mauve and pink kitchen, we contacted Matt Welsh at Bouchard-Pierce to tackle the task. From our first meeting with Matt and all those that followed, he was a pleasure to work with. We were impressed with his creative design ideas, helpful suggestions, and his knowledge of the products Bouchard-Pierce carry. His challenge aside of modernizing our kitchen was to gain more kitchen space using the existing area, make it efficient, and somehow incorporate the top of a free standing butcher’s block made for me by my grandfather somewhere into the counter space. He exceeded our expectations while staying within what we had budgeted. We were excited with the Medallion hickory cabinetry, Cambria quartz counter-top, Vermont soapstone sink and appliances we ended up choosing with his guidance. In addition to his design expertise, he was patient while decisions were being made, was prompt in returning phone calls and emails, met deadlines, and deliveries arrived when he said they would. We had some adjustments that needed to be made to the appliances after installation, however, they were no fault of Matt's and the service department at Bouchard-Pierce made the necessary trips needed to correct the issues. This was our first experience using Bouchard-Pierce and we would certainly recommend Matt Welsh and Bouchard-Pierce to those interested in a kitchen design update or appliances. We are delighted with the results.”

Working with feedback from the client, the project is detailed and completed on paper before being handmade to their specifications. “Michael made us kitchen cabinets and drawers, installed the paper/resin countertops, created a gorgeous wet bar and, finally, designed and made folding doors for privacy into a bedroom wing of our house. The cabinets and drawers have self closing hardware. Everyone who views the cabinets, bar and doors are very impressed with not only the stunning wood, but also the workmanship. “Richard Winter of Wailing Wolf Woodworks has been my go-to craftsman for numerous projects. He helped me plan the kitchen of my dreams, taking into account my very specific needs and designing the precise features I wanted. The end result was astonishing– beautiful custom maple cabinets have made me love working there. He also did a magnificent job laying ceramic tile countertops and floor tiles as well as the backsplash. We were so pleased with his work that we also hired him to custom build a kitchen island, complete with cookbook library shelves and pull out appliance drawers–– also with ceramic tile counter. Eventually, he worked with me to design a custom china cupboard to house my extensive teacup collection, The most recent project was a fabulous custom made bookshelf, complete with three four-shelf bookcases above and a cabinet unit below which features three drawers and below those, three sets of double doors opening to storage space. Richard is a consummate professional and superb craftsman who does everything wth extraordinary attention to detail. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!”

“Our introduction to Knight Kitchens and Ed Stoehr was quite fortuitous we quite unexpectedly attended a home improvement show at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island in anticipation of a complete renovation of an older home that we had recently purchased. The concept of having a kitchen designed and fabricated in Vermont so far from this home was not appealing but we were so impressed with the show model and Ed's attitude that we figured it was looking into. The results were nothing short of outstanding at every level of our contact with Ed. His design instincts were superb and his attitude and professionalism in working with our contractor from such a distance was remarkable. Our original intentions were just to purchase kitchen cabinetry but we ended up having Knight fabricate built-ins for our den and bathroom vanities after we were unhappy with the cost of local options. In each case, the cabinets were exceptionally well constructed in cherry wood with high quality hardware. The finishes were elegant and we regularly receive the highest of compliments on the beauty of the project. This was all done within some challenging time frames. Not to be missed is the fact that the cost of the cabinets according to our well experienced installer were in his opinion "about half of what it would have cost on Long Island". We could not be happier about our decision.”
