Cercan Tile
Tile & Stone Contractors in Detroit
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsMarch 26, 2012
“My husband and I Love everything about this showroom and the wonderful sales professionals that helped create our home. We had just bought a new home that had just the very basic builder grade tile (that you could find anywhere). We got a really good price on the home and so decided, we needed to upgrade the 3 bathrooms and the kitchen The ladies that helped us were so happy, nice and excited about our project. They did not want to just sell us tile, they helped us design a fabulous home with tile and stone that looked way more expensive than they really were. Our finished project was more beautiful than I could have ever asked for. The sales ladies were so confident and knowledgeable about the design, that it made us feel at ease.I will never shop anywhere else for tile and stone again. Thank You Cercan Tile!”

“ORIGINAL REVIEW/ONE STAR I have tried for several months, now, to get this place to RESPOND to email requests for samples. Most tile places have a button to click to "add sample to cart" and you can pay and get them shipped without speaking to anyone. Not Discount Tile. I was instructed (after calling the company) to email my sample choices to them. I was assured that they would email or call me back, confirm my tile choices, get payment info, and a shipping address. Seems cumbersome and tedious, right? Yep. I've decided to quit while I'm ahead. They've demonstrated incompetence, an unwillingness to sell their product, and a lack of interest in helping a potential customer. All bad signs. I have four bathrooms to tile and one kitchen, but won't be spending any of my money at Discount Tile. UPDATE on 1/31/16 FOUR STARS Shortly after I posted the above review, I was called by Adam, of Discount Tile. He expressed regret about my experience with his company and was sincere about "making it right." He assured me that the samples I wanted would be shipped immediately, and at no charge. They arrived a day or two later, gorgeous and in perfect condition. I'm working on my first bathroom remodel now and will decide which sample I will use very soon. Because of my conversations with Adam (via phone and email), I will be giving Discount Glass Tile another chance. I have been convinced that they care about their customers and want to deliver the best service possible. My experience with DGT has vastly improved and so has their star rating. I'll update this review again, after tile selection process, tile delivery, installation, etc.”

“Glen and his staff at MGC make selecting granite, marble, and quartz a pleasurable and easy process. As an interior designer I need contractors who are professional, knowledgeable. and accommodating to clients. I have been working with MGC for 15 years and have always been able to source the right granite, marble and or quartz products for my clients, regardless of their budget..”
Motawi Tileworks
Tile & Stone Contractors in Detroit
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsDecember 2, 2014
“We used Motawi field and polychrome tiles in two kitchen backsplashes, and polychrome tiles decoratively in the tilework in a half bath. Motawi was extremely easy to work with and very patient with our requests. The tile is handmade to order so it is important to allow lead time. The price for the field tiles was a bit daunting but you get tiles selected to match to your criteria as to pattern, darkness of glazing, and tile-to-tile variation, and they even send you a few extra tiles! For my relatively small kitchen backsplashes, darker-towards-the-edges glazing of each tile adds subtle interest. We created "borders' using half-height tiles offset by half a tile width to avoid the "busy-ness" from using border tiles of a contrasting color. The triptych above the stove mimics the view behind the condo which is visible from the kitchen. Seven years after the renovation the tilework still gives me daily pleasure - absolutely worth the cost! For the bathroom, we used Motawi polychrome tiles placed as accents set among typical commercially-available field tile (to save money). We debated using more polychrome tile accents in both the bathroom and the kitchen, but in the end opted for simplicity, which was the right decision. Hubbardton Forge fixtures complement the tiles. The attached snapshots are poorly lit and do not do the tilework justice, but they give a rough idea of the project.”

“We recently purchased all of our hardwood flooring and tile from Rose City Tile. Every salesman we encountered there were respectful, patient and helpful. They worked with us on design choices, made recommendations where needed, and were extremely helpful and competitive on price. The products purchased were terrific and we did not have one problem with any of the various products, from wood to tile. The salesmen we worked with were quick to answer our questions during the installation phase, and the entire experience, from beginning to end, was flawless. We would highly recommend this company.”

Maloney Tile & Marble, Inc

“We hired Stephen to do an almost complete tear out of our bathroom. He removed the soffit in our shower, retiled the walls and floor of the shower - installing accent tile and recessed shelving, retiled bathroom floor - installing a new subfloor, installed a new cabinet and faucet, and re-installed a toilet. He also installed an additional outlet, moved a light fixture higher and raised our shower head. Stephen's work was excellent, as was the work of his subcontractors. He suggested that we go with a different type of shower door than we planned and we were VERY pleased with his recommendation.”
