This room was originally a guest bedroom with the corner windows in the same location. When the client asked me to redesign their master bedroom, I suggested that we turn this adjoing room into their master bathroom.
This is the before photo of the new master bathroom. The clients' guest bedroom, shown here, was no longer needed. But the new use as a large master bathroom was going to be a treat, and not previously considered by the clients.
When I was hired to redesign my clients' master bedroom, they told me I could use, or not use this existing armoire. I thought it would be perfect in the new master bathroom for storing linens and other bathroom supplies. Note the shape of the crown on this cabinet. The shape is repeated on the custom designed shower door shown in the next photo.
I worked with a glass artist to create this custom shower door for the new bathroom. The curved, etched detail at the top repeats the shape of the armoire in the room. See the previous photo.
This detail is part of the window behind the tub. The client wanted the tub to be next to the windows for light and to look outside. However, the tub was going to be visable from the neighbors next door. My glass artist left portions of the glass clear so she could look through to the exterior. But the critical, privacy required areas were etched and gilded metal accents, showed here, were added for interest.
