The addition of only 60 square feet to this early 1900's classic created just the right amount of room for this historic renovation. Remodeling design and construction by Ammirato Construction, Inc., San Jose, CA. Custom cabinetry by The Wood Connection, San Jose, CA.
Kitchen with island seating
The makeover of this early-20th century kitchen features period-correct exterior features such as Shaker-style doors with ball-tip hinges and a white painted finish. The refrigerator and dishwasher received matching decorative panels to help them blend into the rest of the cabinetry. A custom bench seat with drawer storage created a cozy breakfast nook.
Seating area with drop-leaf table
One corner of the kitchen was designated as a breakfast nook, featuring built-in seating with drawer storage and a custom-built drop-leaf table.
This alder sideboard features a distressed, stained and glazed finish. Flush inset drawers and doors with period-correct ball-tip hinges keep with the traditional early 1900's setting.
Fireplace cap and cabinets
The existing cabinets were renovated with new glass paneled doors and refinished in white. A custom tile fireplace surround was created by the builder and topped with a custom distressed and stained alder top.
