The Olive Tree Residence is
a new home built high in the Coastal Range above the Santa Clara Valley. The site has a sweeping 270 degree view across the valley to the east. Designed for a sophisticated couple who enjoy entertaining at home, the house features an open plan with great flow. The brightly colored kitchen enlivens the public wing of the house, balanced by interconnected piano room, sitting room and great room. The fireplace, the same as seen in modern new hotels around the world, holds it's place with the grand view outside. Subtle ceiling articulation and associated ambient lighting provides for a sense of serene theater. Detailing and palette are simple, united by a bamboo floor. The builder of the home is De Mattei Construction.
