WFB kitchen

This kitchen's existing footprint was comfortably sized, but the layout, appliances, cabinetry and countertops were outdated. Frustrated with the appearance, our client began some minor demolition work before contacting us to develop a new design solution!

By removing a 2nd floor airing porch located above the existing kitchen window, we were able to install a much bigger window, which allowed a major improvement in the amount of light available. We removed the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room to visually connect the two spaces, and the new peninsula provides a location for the new range. The new refrigerator was moved out of the traffic flow, and now the kitchen's workstations are more comfortably spaced.

New oak flooring to match the existing elsewhere on the first floor, and new solid-surface countertops set on dark cherry cabinetry provide contrast and help to brighten the room.

We reworked a small storage area at the back entry to provide a mudroom of sorts, with weather resistant commercial vinyl floor tiles and a small closet to hide the clutter.
