Midwestern Mod

I labled this as midwestern mod becuase we are infusing a lot of modern clean lines but we did maintain the orginal white oak floors adjacent to kitchen in living room and on door/window casing and patio doors. As well as it being in a fairly traditionally laid out two story home. But the impact of this transformation was dramatic!! Espresso, gray and white color tones are now prevelant throughout. The homwoner is an empty nester and mainly uses the space for entertaining as well as a professional local chef and catorer/restaurant owner. So having a functional kitchen was also important. There is a seperate formal dining area so the "eat in" kitchen table was removed and instead a large oval raised table comfortably fits five and is more condusive to inetracting with others while entraining.

After layout includes: two tiered island with oval tabel section, new refrigerator location removal of walled off corner pantry, addition of built in wall microwave/pantry combo. Built in custom cabinetry tight to ceiling. New porcelain tile 12 x 24 floors throughout. Willow-light gray shaker panel doors for perimeter cabinetry and Maple Espresso Finish for island and raised table. Dark Cocoa Cohiba brown/black granite for perimeter tops and Bianco Antico granite Island counters. Main backsplash in a white linen look 8 x 20 tile with carara marble and blak/gray marble strip accent section by hood. Most of the main floor was upgraded throughout with new tile in dining room and new powder room vanity and vessel as well as a beautiful charcoal stone focal wall for fireplace. Custom low entrtainment center was also added and in complimentry cabinets. Dramatic black accent pendant and unique drum shade fixture over island were selected to completed the space.
