Thirty year old high rise condominium in the inner city with good spaces and great views was updated with all new finishes and a revamped kitchen. Lighter shades in two colors brighten and electrify the space. Dark furnishings add drama. Sixties modern urnishings are few but in darker shades to add flair and drama.

Challenge was in making a small space appear to extend outward and to bring in as much light as possible. Lighter colors in complementary tones offset the deeper color furnishings and touches of chrome add some sheen.

Glass shower doors in lieu of curtains, extend sight-lines in a small space. Floor tile is 12x24" in a staggered pattern and it extends above tub/shower surround for a built-in look. Old vanity was replaced with new larger and taller maple wood cabinet to maximize storage. New mirror and sconce completes the look.

Kitchen renovation included all new maple cabinets with wall cabinets raised to ceiling to add the illusion of a higher ceiling and allows for taller wall cabinet at the sink. Ceramic floor tile by Dal-tile is a mottled, old-world stone look that extends into foyer. Countertop is Abet Laminatti translucent laminate.

Existing living living room finishes were dated, cheap and made room look darker and smaller.

Before photos of kitchen show cheap plastic white cabinets, canary yellow walls, glaring lighting, and inadequate storage. Wall cabinets were way too low, creating a dark counter.
