Boulder Modern

This is a dramatic solar oriented, deep green home on three levels in south Boulder, Colorado. The City height restrictions, measured vertically from the low side of the building, forced a flat roof concept which we turned into a series of deeply carved three dimensional geometric volumes. As the house literally plunges down the south slope it opens to both views of the valley and mountains beyond as well as extremely beneficial passive solar opportunities. With most of the glazing facing this solar orientation, the home basically heats itself.
