Admiral Dormer Addition & Remodel

A classic Seattle view home with a classic problem: small spaces upstairs and a main floor with both red oak and fir flooring. The bath had been remodeled recently enough to desperately need another remodel to make it match the aesthetics of the home--that corner tub just had to go. And so it did as part of a dormer and main floor addition and a whole house remodel and refresh of all the finishes.

Dormer Addition & Remodel
A dormer and main floor addition lights up this lovely 1924 home, along with a whole-house remodel. The new dormer to the right is a seamless addition to the original dormer. At main level, a small bumpout extends a media room and creates a hall into the kitchen. The new trellises are built from cedar beams.

Wood Trellis

The old mis-matched fir and oak floors were replaced with wide plank oak flooring in a dark brown stain. They are a counterpoint to the exquisite furniture and lighting fixtures, as well as the Batchelder tile fireplace.

The tub is the focal point of the bath, with room for two, and a beautiful faucet and riser, and a train rack towel holder to the left. The glass block and obscured glass windows adjacent provide privacy along with light.

A dormer and main floor addition lights up this lovely 1924 home, along with a whole-house remodel. The bonus in this master bathroom is a toilet room with both a Toto washlet toilet, and a urinal. The only challenge with this installation was installing piping with sufficient water flow.
