Although this Georgian colonial’s architecture is traditional, I took a much more modern approach to the interiors. The owners, who had just returning from living abroad, said they were having a “gray moment” and asked that the interiors reflect that. A neutral color scheme, in shades of gray from charcoal to soft creams, help achieve this, along with the use of sleek finishes and furniture. To reflect the owner’s European sensibility, I accented the rooms with dark wood finishes and luxe fabrics, such as mohair and silks.
