On a lot chosen for its lush foliage and treehouse potential, two working homeowners dreamed of a cottage-style kitchen with industrial elements - one that made use of outdoor views, kept clutter to a minimum and accomodated their busy lifestyle. To make their vision come true, we created an oversized pantry and cabinet storage system that allows food and appliances to be tucked neatly away with minimum fuss; we used white enameling, beadboard and wainscoting to appeal to him, with pops of pink & yellow in roman shades, pillows, runner & accessories for her; we introduced silver metalics via counter stools, hardware and light fixtures to add industrial elements that won’t overpower the cottage whimsy; finally, we emphasized gray, polished silver metals and a stone backsplash in the butler’s pantry to create a space that helps transition to the adjacent formal dining room.
