Home Theatre

Located near Texas A&M University, this client’s request was to create a shrine to their beloved alma mater, the family’s ties to it and the university’s colorful history. To honor its humble beginnings, we created a late 1800’s western town that we littered with A&M history and little known facts about the university.

The walls of the theatre are a combination of real wood siding and faux painting, and depict two storefronts on each of the side walls. The screen wall looks past the railroad tracks and the incoming train out onto the open Texas landscape with the iconic water tower in the distance. A signpost listing of all the cities this well-traveled couple has lived in and their distances from their newest home is painted on the rear wall. Covered porches define the aisles with hitching post railings. With a sky painted to look like one of their favorite sunsets, this room is as much a museum as it is a theatre. There are not a lot of theatres that you can spend hours in without watching a minute of a movie.
