At Home in New England
Transformation of a historical cottage...The recessed lighting disappears!
Custom storage solution for pot lids & placemats...
In this small U-shaped kitchen, our goal was to make it feel open...and and larger. The use of glass front wall cabinets was exactly the right thing to do. Notice the recessed lighting that almost disappears. Skillfully designed lighting is as important or maybe more important than any other element in the room.
For this historic home, recessed lighting was a necessity, but how to make it disappear? We love these flangeless trims from Lightolier and use them all the time in historic homes!
Halophane pendants create a soft, yet functional ambient light...something every kitchen cannot live without! We always use dimmers....These are from Ann Morris Antiques in NYC.
