11_Old Town Evolution

Collaborating with architect Ziad Demian on a complete renovation of this Old Town, Alexandria, townhouse was an exciting and challenging experience. This classic row house is located in the middle of the block, resulting in a lack of natural light, space, and connection to the outdoors. The design concept focused on bringing in an abundance of natural light; creating a strong indoor/outdoor relationship; and making all of the rooms between 11’ and 15’ to create spacious, open, and airy environments.

With a powerful Miele hood over the island, Gaggenau oven, and ample countertop space in dark limestone any cook would feel right at home. The glass inserts in the floors and ceilings, furthermore, allow the natural light coming from each end of the row house to fully infuse the interiors.

The bedroom just above the kitchen enjoys amble light from the two-story windows that take up one entire wall and turn the corner to a second. The black bed frame, cabinetry and window mullions ground the brightness of all that light.
