Wolf Residence

With the intention of downsizing from their previous residence, the clients purchased this home in Longboat Key, Florida, but still wanted to maintain their luxurious lifestyle. The clients teamed with the Architect for a remodel of clean, simple lines, open spaces, and a connection to the outdoors. The original 1970’s design featured a three-story home wrapped in horizontal siding and a warren of small, dark rooms. The home’s exterior now has an elegant façade of sand-finished stucco and landscaping that emphasizes simplicity, repetition, and harmony through the use of bamboo, stone beds, and Japanese-style plants. The interior redesign stripped the house to its studs, removed many walls and raised a portion of the roof to add space within the same footprint. The renovation added deck surfaces, open spaces for entertaining, and introduced the kitchen as the focal point. Now there’s access to outdoor decks and stunning views from every room. A strong relationship was established with the bayou and pool through the use of sliding-pocketing doors and wider terraces. This 4,450 SF remodel captures the elegance of its owners and shapes a home that is functional, expansive, and luxurious.
