This in an old Hand Hewn Beam form an 1800s barn from the East Coast. Also notice the pockets from the mortise and tenon construction back in the days before steel brackets.

This beam was purchased through an F.S.C. certified vendor its history is that it was a log from a cabin in Montana circa 1860s. we then milled to size for customer and stained to match floor. Rock wall was done by local mason.

Massive chunk of timber. Douglas Fir 8x14 tight grain from an old cannery on the West Coast, Stone is called blue stone. Stone work by local mason.

A little stain and a good finish 3 to 4 coats of conversion varnish and there we have the finished piece ready to install. This is a very large piece of wood for a massive statement.
