Gentlemen's Farm/Reproduction

Beautiful reproduction of a gentlemen's farm on a steeply sloping property. Due to the slopes, the entire site was a series of terraced spaces integrated into five primary areas, front yard and parking and side motor court, playing field, pool space, north terrace and garden and the formal garden. The stone on the home and landscape was reclaimed from old barns in Pennsylvania and the overall goal was to create the illusion that this new home appears to be 100 years old. We brought in some trees and shrubs that were 60 to 80+ years old to repeat that illusion and goal in the landscape.

Wonderful stone column detail frames this wooded gate entry, which in this case also acted as a deer fence and met pool code requirements.

Partial view of the north bluestone terrace. The pool deck was brick and then we transitioned to a combination of brick and bluestone leading you to the primary rear dinning space. The pergola in the foreground and the open porch to the formal garden in the back ground create almost a hallway affect as you leave one space and enter another.
