Vanishing Edge Pool

Disappearing edge swimming pool design.with travertine pavers, beach edge and waterfall.

For the pool paving, travertine pavers were used in a beautiful carmel color.

As you can see in the photos, there is a beach edge. The water here is 6 inches deep, just right for lounge chairs.

There is also a very natural looking waterfall. I supervised the placement of each rock, one by one!

A lot of landscape grading had to be done along with retaining walls on this sloped property.

Vanishing edge swimming pool with view into the distance. Property sloped down to another body of water... a reservoir. Basin behind pools collects the water falling over the edge and this water is recirculated. Dreamy! Design and Photo by Susan Schlenger

The pool also has a beach area. This is a nice feature to include in a pool landscape design. It is a shallow area in which you can place lounge chairs, allowing you to sit right in the water. We also added a beautifully designed naturalistic waterfall with many different sized boulders….just another great feature of this landscape design. Natural looking boulders, shapes and placements imitate nature so that the waterfall design looks like one that was naturally formed. Water flows down in various places to make it more interesting.
