Müezzinoğlu Apartment/Selenium Panaroma Residence

Müezzinoğlu house, based on 2 living rooms, a bedroom with a dressing room and bathroom, guest toilet, kitchen and maid’s room, is located at Selenium Panaroma residence at the 13th floor. The appartment is formed by combining two appartments. The concept project is designed just according to the clients needs and life styles.
The appartment is approximately 300 m² and very simetrical as it is a combination of two simetric units. The left part includes a modern bedroom with modern style and an ethnic styled living-study room whereas the right part is formed of English style salon, guest toilet, kitchen and maid’s space.
The floor, ceiling, electrical and mechanical projects are drawn according to the settlement plan during the rough construction stage. The circular walls which seems to be the main architectural elements led us to use built in floor aluminium fans in the living rooms while wall mounted high radiators are used in the bedrooms and kitchen.
Basicly, two different styles were used in the living rooms by combining classic and modern elements. In the master bedroom, considering the position and the size, modern lines and white as a colour is preferred. As one of the main concerns, comfortable and peaceful spaces are created by balancing the life styles and the functionality of the used areas.
In order to break away the lineer positioning of the entrance and guiding to the different spaces, angular lines are used at the ceiling and the hall is lightened by using Barrisol lighting. The different heights and angular lighting at the ceiling which are supported with spot lights, are designed to form a commodius and bright entrance.
The ceramics on the floors are laid groutless and all the carpentry Works are designed from floor to ceiling in order not to have divisions. With the thought of bringing out a combined space, lineer grouting are designed on the sliding shiny lacquer vestiary covers which follows the handles of the sliding glass doors that seperates the master bedroom and the kitchen.
The right sided living room which is designed with an English style, is formed of a living and a dining part. The different shaped plan is reflected to the furnitures. The living part is formed of rectangular shaped seats and a coffe table at the middle in a rectangular settlement. The dining table, situated at the circular area is chosen to be a round one. The round shaped armchairs at the entrance is used to combine both. In order to stregnthen the effect of the circular plan of the building, the floor and ceiling are differentiated at the dining area.
One of the main concerns of the clients were to display the antiques that they own. A special glass unit is designed over the entrance wall with lightened onyx Stone to highlight the pieces. The oil painted paintings are displayed at the living area in a harmony with the antiques and classic style.
At the guest toilet that is located at the entrance of the appartment, the same ceramics are used to integrate the different spaces. The small size of the toilet, led us to use reflective mirror at the door and different sized antique framed mirrors on the sink in order to give a volume. As fort he materials, mahogany and gold coloured fittings are used im combination with the living room. An antique cupboard is bought for the classic styled ambiance.
The kitchen is designed according to the clients needs as the rest of the house. Shiny lacquer cupboards are combined with dark Brown glass and light coloured counter. An island cupboars system is formed in relation with the clients lifestyle to be used for daily meals. High cupboards with functional internal partitions are used at the opposite wall in order to gain from space. Straight lined design was the basic point at this space to have a calm atmosphere.
The maid’s part is accesed from the kitchen with a shiny lacquer door in harmony with the kitchen cupboards. The main design priority was functionality. Besides the bedroom and the bathroom for the maid, the laundry and ironing spaces are solved by creating a walking closet in the room.
The left sided living room is formed of a study part and a living area. This is supposed to be the part for daily life so the main concern was to create a warm and liveable area. the entrance area at the right is designed as a study space for S. Müezzinoglu, and the right part is designed for M. Müzeezinoglu to have a unique place in a seperated form for daily life. The circular area, is used as the living part with the same intent to be able to share spaces jointly at the same time with different funcitons. The tv unit, also designed with the same concerns, serves both parts. Here, a more smooth styled design is chosen with little English style touches. In combination with the lineer based libraries, antique carpets and accessories. Different from the rest of the house, live colours like a red ladder and colourful cushions are used to give the space a little movements.
The master bedroom; is inspired by a hotel room that the owners stayed during a New York trip. The speciality is that all the coverings and furnitures are white coloured except the gorgeous painting ‘Kapalıçarşı Şark Kahvesi’ of Russian painter T. Nazarenko, a gift given by the painter himself, on the wall. Like the rest of the house, new furnitures, bed and dresser, are combined with the antiques make up table and pouffe that was bought from Africa, by whitening them. Old family photos are hanged over the make up table in sephia mode.
The bathroom is designed to be white with the bedroom. The small sized space is tried to be volumed with white corian material all over and the lightend Barrisol. A special pattern is designed to be used on the lightened corian wall and stainless steel culvert in the shower area.
The dressing room is completely custom made according to the clients needs. Again, the only colour used is white in the open shelf system. The cupboards are produced from floor to ceiling and like the kitchen an island shaped cupboard is used to gain from space.
