A Traditional Outdoor Living Space

In order to completely redesign and construct a new outdoor living space for a stately brick home, special attention had to be given to the brick, stone and masonry selections and construction techniques to ensure a seamless transition from the old to the new. Oversized handmade bricks were chosen for the fireplace and surround. Porcini Travertine was selected to finish the new patio and match to the existing tiles. Lighting for this space included accent lights installed in the brick risers and beneath the fireplace benches. Bullnose bricks were added to the steps to create a soft, attractive curved edge. A nook was constructed next to the fireplace to keep the wood dry and organized.
