Arts & Crafts custom kitchen with quartersawn white oak island. Tremendous fun building this project for a young couple working on a very tight budget. Didn't make a dime on this project but the finished result was well worth all the hard work and time.
This was a traditional porch built for a new home that I ripped out the flat vinyl ceiling created these beams and finished off the ceiling. I then designed and built this large light fixture (48"H x 18"sq.) and hung it in the center. It along with the light ceiling color and all the crown molding detail made for a stunning makeover for any home.
In the 90's, it seems that every new home had an area in the kitchen with a desk for the phone and phone books. Well I ripped it out and built addidtional useful storage space for my clients. Used "waterglass" in the doors which helped keep the area open and friendly.
Handmade solid cherry kitchen. This kitchen was a typical early 90's kitchen until we opened up the main living area to the kitchen. A joint collaboration with Aimee Pearson the kitchen designer created innovative storage perks to make anyone jealous. Seamless design with custom corbels, inset doors and finsest hardware available.
Handmade cabinets allows me too carefully bookmatch the grain in each door or set of doors adding more beauty to these solid cherry cabinets. Over 800 board feet of Select and Better cherry was used in creating this somewhat large kitchen.
Tile backsplash is still on backorder, but the warmth of the cherry works wonderfully well with the Travertine tile floor and granite countertops.
This 50's inspired kitchen was partically designed around some beatiful custom pottery the client had been collecting. The torquoise Blue Star Oven and island, along with outstanding chrome hardware, imported tile and LED low voltage lighting made this a remarkable transformation from what it once was.

I mix it up with every kitchen when it comes to finding the right wood to hand dovetail a kitchens drawer boxes. Certain kitchen styles like an Arts & Crafts I will use a quartersawn White Oak, were more formal kitchens I might use a select and better cherry. This kitchen I chose to use some of the last remaining Honduran Mahogany here in Knoxville TN. The unmistaken color and grain just can't be captured on film as in person you truly see the depth and grain like an old family heirloom.

Dishwahers today like to be hidden. Follow the seamless look in your design and make as many appliances disappear including your refrigerator. It's much easier to clean a painted or stained and finished panel than to keep up on all of the fingerprints you'll have on stainless products..
Many designs had been drawn out for this wall but altimately it had to work around the limitations of the refrigerator. The main objective was to create the most storage, convenient to access and limitless organizational possibilities. Far right side pantry stores all of their countertop appliances where the left side pantry stores all of their pantry food.
Very simple farmhouse cabinet design. Embellished with a few corbels and painted a Linen White with a soft Mocha glaze.
Tall cabinet to the left of the refrigerator provides generous pantry space with 5 pull out trays. Deep drawers below and a display cabinet to the right of the refrigerator showcases the clients most treasured pottery pieces.
This kitchen was once divided by walls and hallways. The space was opened up and now occupies a footprint of 25x35. Nine foot ceilings called for the longer farmhouse upper cabinets wrapped carefully with a 3 piece crown molding detail. Island is painted black and lightly distressed with a light brown glaze.
