Arcel Circle

We started with a cosmetic exterior re-design of a tract home and ended up with a complete structural facelift of the existing facade and landscape. See included “before” shot to see where we started and where we ended up. Because of structural defects discovered during demolition, we brought on a structural engineer to assist with re-footing the entire front of the garage entrance.

Clients wanted to create a cozy Colorado Mountain home feel in the heart of Southern California. The last of their teenage boys was almost grown and they wanted to enjoy the more adult aspects of their home.

Planked, painted wood gave way to a sanded stucco finish in a rich cocoa brown. We stained and treated standard cedar garage doors in a warm marine finish to match an existing front door and designed arched stucco openings to mimic arched doors. Custom ironwork clads the windows above the garage to add architectural interest and tie into the foam details around the window framing and craftsman inspired pillar transformation.

An eclectic use of river rock and flagstone warm up the front and create an outdoor gathering area out of an architectural “bump in” created by the original builders. We consulted with the landscaper to design exterior lighting that would highlight the landscape as well the hardscape.
