This surround for a wood stove created the feel of a fireplace for our customer. He used the Wright's Ferry style on the hearth and the walls, but the Lancaster Running Bond tiles can also be used on the walls, if the look of the brick stretcher side is wanted.
This fireplace is covered with thin brick tiles from Inglenook Tile Design -- a project completed as a DIY by the home-owner. The corners are covered with L-shaped corner returns, to give the impression of a full-sized brick.
Customers often ask me for ideas for their fireplace hearths. Here is a nice example of what a customer has done with our Wright's Ferry tiles. They have our tiles on the entire floor, but marked off the hearth area with a different installation layout.
This unique wood stove hearth idea could also be used for a fireplace. Katrina Johnson designed this for her own home, and bought the tiles from us at Inglenook Tile Design.
Thank you to Marty and Jon Wilson for sharing this picture of their fireplace. Our brick tiles line the inside of the firebox. The style used was Lancaster Running Bond.
