Butler's Pantry
Ideabooks246
Questions1
This butler’s pantry is part of an entire kitchen renovation. It illustrates how layers of detail can add so much to a space. We tapped our team of trusted artisans to create this one-of-a kind focal point. The backsplash tile was custom made to match a register grate pattern we spotted at the Empire State Building. Custom leaded and stained glass of varying colors, textures...More

Media Room

Questions0
How can drama be this understated? This lower level media room originally had a wall of very dated shuttered cabinets surrounding the bar. Instead of replacing the whole wall of cabinets, which would have been very costly, we saved the shelving and covered it with a deep blue velvet drapery mounted to the ceiling. The fabric provides great sound insulation for the large scree...More

Guest Bedroom

Questions1
The idea was for guests to feel like royalty when staying here! For a very dramatic focal point , we took an ordinary sleigh bed and surrounded the headboard with a cornice and side drapery made of a graphic Italian fabric. On one side of the room, we added a steel desk which works as well for a vanity as it does a place to set a notebook computer. The striped, painted dre...More

Our clients wanted a serene and comfortable, yet formal living room. Symmetry is a wonderful way to create a very balanced, and consequently, soothing space. A pair of transitional camel-back sofas flank the fireplace, and extend an invitation to sit around the fire. Other “pairs” of draperies, chairs, and ottomans around the room create order and “organize” the space, al...More

This is no ordinary landing; it’s practically another room! Because the home’s traditional architecture is so clean and simple, we were able to contrast it with contemporary fabrics and artwork. Our client’s miniature chairs fit perfectly in the niche---a collection always has more impact when grouped together. We covered the window seat in a graphic Italian fabric, and ad...More

Questions10
The goal in this dining room was to give a nod to the couples’ modern aesthetic while maintaining the architectural flow from outside this Colonial home. Our concept was that a young couple had inherited a Venetian palazzo. First, we raised the chair rail, and added some panel molding, then we applied a vintage looking damask wallcovering to add instant “age.” Dramatic green si...More

Powder Room

Questions13
Petite spaces are a great way to use luxurious materials and go for over-the-top style--a powder room should always be a surprise for guests. We painted the walls in bold stripes to visually “widen” the space, and papered the ceiling with an elegant silver leaf. The laser-cut drapery fabric becomes sculpture and adds dimension to the room.
