Hillside Retreat
by Sutton Suzuki Architects
The steep slope suggested retaining walls to create terraces that would offer easy outdoor access from all levels of the home. Two beautiful and massive stone walls span the length of the house and even extend beyond the building envelope, reinforcing the connection to the land. In addition to deep overhangs, photo voltaics, solar hot water and radiant heat, this home features environmentally responsible materials and finishes.
