Story Hill Lane Guest House

Our clients wanted a small guesthouse to accommodate their growing family and frequent out-of-town guests. This sloping site sits in a narrow, oak-studded canyon with long views to both the coastal mountains and San Francisco Bay. The town applied strict development guidelines limiting the structure's height to only seventeen feet above grade at its highest point.

CAW created an open and inviting guesthouse that also provides areas for quiet contemplation and an appreciation of nature. Natural materials and an abundance of light combine with radiant heating systems and photovoltaics to minimize the structure's impact on the environment.
