Patchetts Green house
This new build replacement required careful consideration in relation to its land status which was that of green belt and a conservation area. The existing house was fairly diminutive so the discussion over increasing floorspace through a full footprint basement was met favorably by the local authority in Hertsmere. The careful use of open plan spaces, separate studio spaces and children’s playroom meant for a highly useable family house on a relatively compact footprint over three levels. Major garden and landscaping works were required to ensure the holistic integration of the house to its grounds to what is a simple, elegant and timeless design solution.
