This customer wanted some natural lighting in the kitchen and some new office space at the front of the residence.
Here's a shot of the finished product.

This kitchen previously had an 8' ceiling with recessed fluorescent light boxes that made for a poorly lit kitchen with very minimal natural light. We came up with this design to satisfy the owner's wishes for more natural light and opened it up to the adjacent living room by rooming a large partition wall. The finished project had a nice open and airy feeling.

The office addition was easily incorporated into this project in a front garden area that already had a roof over it. A very good investment for some much needed extra space.
Shed Dormer

A shed dormer in the kitchen ceiling was the ticket for solving the lack of natural light. We'll be installing 3 awning windows above as well as enlarging the existing kitchen window seen here below..

The finished office. We installed a very nice Velux sky lite that the owner had had in a storage shed in the back yard. Amber liked it.

This walk-in pantry was another much needed feature providing food storage and a beautiful glass etched pantry door. We were able to sneak it in under and existing stariway.

Questions1
Relocating the refrigerator and double ovens, (They kept the existing to stay within budget), was a great way to keep the work triangle feasibly located for maximum function.

The beechwood cabinets turned out awesome with a light natural finish. The etched glass cabinet doors and sleek hardware was the finishing touch.

This pop up plug on the island was a lifesaver. By code, electrical outlets were needed on the island but the cabinet design didn't lend itself to side mounted outlets. This conceals very well when not in use, (see next photo).
