This is what I would call affectionately 'Rustic Elegance.' I love the slate with its variation in color & the contrast of texture against the bronzed deco's & liners. This was a Model home I did a few years back. I did four on this same street & made sure that each on was an individual with its own unique character.
With a mix of transitional & some contemporary items the energy and color is enhanced in this 'rustic elegant" space.
The kitchen is rich with contrasts. I designed another medallion for it that I affectionately call " Papavero Fiore." In essence it means Poppy, but it is a much prettier way of saying poppy. The floor is an African Ebony which has streaks of blond & black running through rich walnut tones.
In this Tuscan inspired kitchen I used my "Arabesco" medallion in walnut travertine to give it a warm earthy feeling. This kitchen was a collaborative effort with my dear friend Dave Porter who is a long time kitchen cabinet designer.
This was a fabulous kitchen remodel. The medallion was custom designed for this space. The husband wanted blue pendant lights more than anything so I included blue glass in the medallion design.
This was designed for a Kitchen Showroom in Salt Lake to showcase the appliances this company sold. I designed the backsplash to create impact & drama to compliment the simple European style cabinets.
