Looking into the kitchen from the nook area, you can see the rich wood tones, black painted island and cabinets, and traditional backsplash - all perfect for this Italian inspired kitchen remodel.

With large turned legs, this black painted island is reminiscent of a gathering table you'd find in a Italian country kitchen - this is just a little more refined. Hand-scraped floors add to the rustic feel.

Looking through the dining room to the living room, it is clear that this Italian-inspired theme is carried throughout.

Simple stone and tile diamond pattern inset, combined with crackle-finish subway tiles add to the traditional feel of this kitchen.

Fireplace surround in a family room made of cast concrete. The tile surround replicates tile in the kitchen allowing a clear connection between the two rooms.

The tile, stone, glass mosaic used in the kitchen is mirrored in the fireplace surround. The mantel is a cast concrete product.
