Handmade Pottery: From Tradition to Heirloom

Our terracotta products are handmade in a traditional manner using the highest quality clay available. The origin of our “Galestro” clay is from an area which borders the provinces of Siena, Arezzo and Grosetto. Every piece of terracotta combines a history of art, dedication, passion and professionalism.

The clay for each piece is hand pressed into a mold to achieve a clear imprint. After a few hours the item begins to dry and detach from the mold and is removed. It is then finished by hand (as shown in the photos above). Subsequently, the object is left to dry naturally for a period of time that varies depending on its size and the climatic conditions. This long process ends with baking at a very high temperature (1800 degrees Fahrenheit). It is in the kiln that our terracotta acquires its frost-resistant quality in addition to its unmistakable color.

Since 1985 our production has drawn its inspiration from the artisan tradition characteristic to this part of Tuscany in Italy. Our main objective has always been to achieve and maintain high standards in all areas of production. We constantly strive to combine traditional materials with innovation, using shapes and styles suited to all tastes.
